Types Of Security



Service Set Identifier (SSID) is the name designated for a specific wireless area network (WLAN).

Channel- 6 is the default channel. All devices on the network must
share the same channel.(Note: The wireless adopters will automatically scan and match the wireless settings).

WEP-
Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is a wireless security protocol for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). WEP. provides security by encrypting the data that is sent over the WLAN. Select Enabled or Disabled. Disabled is default setting. (Note: if you enable encryption make sure t also enable encripting on all the wireless clients or wireless connection will not be established).

WEP Encryption-
Select the level of encryption desired: 64-bit, or 138-bit

MAC Address-
The MAC address is a physical address or MAC address. This is a unique serial number assigned to each network adopter, making it possible to deliver data packets to a destination within a subetwork, (E.g, A phisical network consisting of one or several network segments interconnect by, hubs, and swiches). MAC address is built into each Network interface Card (NIC). Wired and Wireless.
